Experience the Difference!

Our goal is to provide you with the best possible 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) experience we can offer by combining our passion for the eight limbs of yoga with our extensive background in developing and delivering learning programs and curriculum over the past few decades. Certified under Yoga Alliance’s Elevated Standards in 2020, Down Dog Sedona was one of the first Registered Yoga Studios (RYS) to receive this accreditation.

What does this mean for you?

  • A well-organized, well-led, robust, and engaging curriculum aligned with Yoga Alliance’s core competencies under the Elevated Standards:

    • Focusing on all eight-limbs of yoga throughout the YTT experience.

    • Integrating Ayurveda throughout the YTT experience, ensuring the sister-sciences of Ayurveda and Yoga are embedded throughout the program thereby supporting your own ability to recognize the balances and imbalances of the mind and the physical body.

    • Emphasizing All-levels Vinyasa Flow teaching.*

    • Emphasizing teaching asana biomechanics and alignment principles tailored to individual mobility and stability needs.

    • Where you will learn and develop an extensive cueing vocabulary and languaging to confidently, and seamlessly sequence basic asanas through more advanced asana expansions.

    • Steeped in yogic philosophy, history and ethics, as well maintaining a strict adherence to educational psychology research and adult learning theory.

  • An expanded curriculum and deep dive into conducting non-traditional and area-specific yoga and wellness activities and events in the Verde Valley including:

    • Standup Paddleboard Yoga
