840 US dollars
Coconino National Forest

Service Description

Preregistration required and registration cutoff is 24-hours prior to the event. Trailhead location will be communicated after registering. Join us for a hike through this high-desert paradise and transform a simple walk into an immersive exploration of Sedona’s spectacular geology. Led by a knowledgeable guide who reveals the hidden stories behind the dramatic landscape while pointing out resilient desert flora and other points of interest. This journey offers a grounded connection to the land, balancing the sheer physical beauty of the towering red walls with rich insights into the unique geological forces and timeless mystique that define Sedona's wilderness. Hiker’s Top Tip: Avoid wearing black outer garments as black fabric absorbs nearly all visible light and UV radiation from the sun, converting it directly into heat that is then transferred to your body. A black outer garment can make you feel significantly warmer in direct sunlight, with surface temperatures often exceeding white clothing by 15°F to over 30°F. In peak sun, a black shirt may reach temperatures over 130°F, whereas a white shirt remains closer to 100°F. What to bring and wear: - At least a quart/liter of water - Sunscreen - Large, brimmed hat - Sunglasses - Good hiking shoes/boots - Light colored, moisture wicking and loose-fitting outer garments, preferably +50 UPF (Ultraviolet Protective Fabric).
